Founded in the principles of ecology, my landscape design endeavor looks to apply restorative practices – introducing native biodiversity, leaving detritus for nutrient cycling, and working with the existing qualities of the land itself – to form regenerative gardens people can enjoy, and flora and fauna can thrive in!
Up to date I have worked with over 40 clients mostly residing in Fairfield County, Connecticut (where I grew up), and Tompkins County, New York (where I have resided the last seven years). Most of my work is concentrated in private residential with specialty focuses on transitioning lawns and barren understories to Rain Gardens, Shade Gardens, and Rock Gardens. These specialities are derived from an ecological concern to preserve water, control erosion, and diversify the plantings a plot of land can bear.
Another unique detail of Busy Bee Ecological Designs is the service we offer for Co-gardening: this gives lifelong gardeners who may have physical limitations or a need for a designers eye, the opportunity to work alongside a master gardener to help actualize and curate design ideas and gardening visions!
